Movement Control of Smart Mosque's Domes using CSRNet and Fuzzy Logic Techniques

arXiv ·

This paper proposes a smart dome model for mosques that uses AI to control dome movements based on weather conditions and overcrowding. The model utilizes Congested Scene Recognition Network (CSRNet) and fuzzy logic techniques in Python to determine when to open and close the domes to maintain fresh air and sunlight. The goal is to automatically manage dome operation based on real-time data, specifying the duration for which the domes should remain open each hour.

A Feed-Forward Artificial Intelligence Pipeline for Sustainable Desalination under Climate Uncertainties: UAE Insights

arXiv ·

Researchers developed a two-stage AI pipeline to predict desalination performance efficiency losses due to climate factors in the UAE, achieving 98% accuracy. The model forecasts aerosol optical depth (AOD) and uses it to predict desalination efficiency, incorporating meteorological data. A dust-aware control logic was developed to optimize plant operations, and an interactive dashboard was created for decision support.

Web-Based Expert System for Civil Service Regulations: RCSES

arXiv ·

The paper introduces a web-based expert system called RCSES for civil service regulations in Saudi Arabia. The system covers 17 regulations and utilizes XML for knowledge representation and ASP.net for rule-based inference. RCSES was validated by domain experts and technical users, and compared favorably to other web-based expert systems.

Universal Adversarial Examples in Remote Sensing: Methodology and Benchmark

arXiv ·

This paper introduces a novel black-box adversarial attack method, Mixup-Attack, to generate universal adversarial examples for remote sensing data. The method identifies common vulnerabilities in neural networks by attacking features in the shallow layer of a surrogate model. The authors also present UAE-RS, the first dataset of black-box adversarial samples in remote sensing, to benchmark the robustness of deep learning models against adversarial attacks.

Artificial Intelligence Mangrove Monitoring System Based on Deep Learning and Sentinel-2 Satellite Data in the UAE (2017-2024)

arXiv ·

A new study uses the UNet++ deep learning model and Sentinel-2 satellite data to monitor mangrove dynamics in the UAE from 2017 to 2024. The model achieved a mean Intersection over Union (mIoU) of 87.8% on the validation set. Results indicate a significant increase in mangrove area, primarily in Abu Dhabi, contributing to enhanced carbon sequestration across the UAE.

Upsampling Autoencoder for Self-Supervised Point Cloud Learning

arXiv ·

This paper introduces a self-supervised learning method for point cloud analysis using an upsampling autoencoder (UAE). The model uses subsampling and an encoder-decoder architecture to reconstruct the original point cloud, learning both semantic and geometric information. Experiments show the UAE outperforms existing methods in shape classification, part segmentation, and point cloud upsampling tasks.

A Missing and Found Recognition System for Hajj and Umrah

arXiv ·

A proposed recognition system aims to identify missing persons, deceased individuals, and lost objects during the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages in Saudi Arabia. The system intends to leverage facial recognition and object identification to manage the large crowds expected in the coming decade, estimated to reach 20 million pilgrims. It will be integrated into the CrowdSensing system for crowd estimation, management, and safety.
