The aim is to identify universal donors, reprogram their cells into induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, and create a gene bank for matched tissue transplants. Alsayegh is collaborating with Jesper Tegnér at KAUST to create pacemaker cells using single-cell RNA sequencing.
