Fanar (meaning "lighthouse" in Arabic) was developed by QCRI as Qatar's flagship Arabic LLM. Trained on high-quality Arabic corpora with particular attention to Gulf Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic. The model demonstrates strong performance on Arabic reasoning, reading comprehension, and question answering benchmarks. Available at fanar.qa for research and API access.
